AQUAMEND™
Product Description - AQUAMEND® is a hand-mixable, specialty epoxy putty that mixes in just one minute for repairs to damp, wet areas and underwater applications. It may be applied under water in either fresh or salt water and will bond tenaciously to many substrates such as fiberglass, metal, wood, concrete, ceramics, glass, etc. When applying AQUAMEND® to damp, wet, or immersed areas it is necessary to work the material forcefully into the surface and apply pressure until adhesions begins to take effect. In immersed applications, AQUAMEND®’s cure rate is dependent upon the temperature of the water just as it is affected by the air temperature in non-immersed applications. The lower the temperature the longer it takes to cure. AQUAMEND® comes in a handy four-ounce "tootsie roll" form with the curing agent encapsulated in the contrasting color base material. The putty-like consistency eliminates drips and runs, providing "no mess" applications with no tools required for use.
AQUAMEND® has 100% solids content, will not shrink, and is water insoluble. The mixed epoxy turns from an aquamarine color to "fiberglass white" after mixing and will not yellow upon exposure to U.V. After final cure AQUAMEND® may be drilled, sawed, sanded, filed, tapped, machined, or painted.
Basic Uses - After proper mixing, AQUAMEND® molds like clay and may be used to patch dings, scratches, cuts, gouges, and holes in fiberglass, metal, and wooden boat decks and hulls; to repair fittings, pipes, electrical connections, leaking gaskets, water tanks, fish boxes, tubs, battery cases, sinks, spas, hot tubs, tanks, pools; to form custom gaskets, etc. AQUAMEND® in an excellent adhesive when making repairs with fiberglass tape. AQUAMEND® is ideal for making emergency in-water repairs. The unused portion will remain stable for years if stored in its container at room temperature. NO BOAT SHOULD BE WITHOUT AQUAMEND®.
Color - "Fiberglass" white color after cure.
Packaging - AQUMEND® is packed in a reusable clear plastic tube with a plastic friction top.

Application
Surface Preparation: In order to achieve optimum adhesion, surfaces should be clean and free of grease and dirt. Scuffing or sanding the surface prior to cleaning helps ensure a good bond.
Mixing: Twist or cut off required amount. To mix, knead with fingers to a uniform color. If mixing is difficult, warm AQUAMEND® to a room temperature of slightly above. Apply to the surface to be repaired (within 15 minutes of mixing). Force into any cracks or holes to be filled and strike off excess material, preferably with a tool wetted with clean water. When applying to a damp, wet, or slowly leaking area, work he material forcefully into the surface and apply pressure until adhesion begins to take effect.
For a smooth appearance of the cured compound, hand rub with water or a damp cloth prior to hardening. Remove excess material before hardening begins. After 20-30 minutes the epoxy will begin to form a tenacious bond. After just 45 minutes AQUAMEND® can be drilled, sawed, carved, sanded, stained, or painted.
Health Precautions - When mixing by hand, AQUAMEND® does not cause skin irritation to individuals with normal skin sensitivity. Individuals with extra sensitive skin should maintain caution and wash hands thoroughly after mixing the compound, or wear thin plastic gloves. AQUAMEND® has been classified non-toxic and non-skin irritating when tested versus the requirements of the Federal Hazardous Substances Labeling Act.
