STONE CARVING - Learn effective techniques of traditional stone carving with hammer and chisels: cutting, shaping filing and polishing. Stone Carving is less difficult than you imagine! Discover how the process of stone carving can be a source of inspiration and even meditative.

PORTRAIT CLAY SCULPTURE - Beginners quickly discover how to use malleable clay to sculpt the human form. Working from the model, students gain knowledge of sculptural concepts of proportion, anatomy and portraiture as they learn to depict the head and bust in three dimensions.
Tuesdays, 6:30-8:30pm, 8 sessions, $295
CLAY SCULPTURE - Introduction to clay sculpture, portraiture and figure sculpture.
Saturdays, 10:30-1:00pm, 8 sessions, $295
PORTRAIT DRAWING - Learn the fundamentals of anatomy, proportion, line and value to capture the sitter's
features and personality. Develop your techniques so you can draw what you see using measurement, contour and gesture drawing.

Since our classrooms are heavily used and we want our students to express themselves in an unrestricted manner, our classrooms are not immaculate by any stretch of the imagination. Although we try to keep our space as tidy as possible we do not suggest you wear your best clothes to our classes.

  • TCS offers custom classes and demonstrations on a wide range of topics from mold making and casting to stone carving and power tools use. We also offer children’s workshops and have hosted special events such as bachelorette sculpting parties.
  • Prices for custom classes and events varies based on such things as subject, travel, materials and any special requests that you have.
