The New York Polymer Clay Guild offers a variety of workshops on a variety of different topics including polymer clay and precious metal clay techniques. The classes are held at St. John’s University at 101 Murray Street in lower Manhattan which is easily accessible from the 1 train at the Chambers Street station.

The workshops are open to non-members however membership to the Guild provides class discounts and special member events.

Since becoming a member in November, I have attended two classes including a polymer clay sculpting class with Christi Friesen and a color technique class with Lindly Haunani. I have also attended one member meeting and one “Clay Day”, a member event during which various members offered their tips and techniques with hands-on demos.

I have found the quality of the classes, instructors, and location to be superb and the members to be diverse in their backgrounds, skill level and techniques and willing to share. I feel this blend offers an enriching environment in which all skill levels are welcome and I would recommend this guild and classes to anyone interested in polymer clay.
