Even having been in this business for a short time, I have noticed that there are very few "masters" and each of them is often protective of their secrets. We have found some very old and interesting patina recipes, that we would like to share. These have all been used at on time or another, but should be tested before applying to something important!

Bluegrass Blue:

Sodium Hyposulphite 60g Nitric Acid 4g Water 1ltr

This is a dipping solution

Yellow/Green:

Sodium Thiosulphate 1g Ferric Nitrate 8g Water 128g

This is a brushing solution

Antique Green:

Cupric Nitrate 40g Ammonium Chloride 40g Calcium Chloride 40g Water 1ltr
