Microcrystalline waxes consist of a matrix of extremely small crystals. They are sometimes referred to as amorphous wax. Their molecular structure consi sts of a complex mixture of hydrocarbons including normal paraffins, branched paraffins, monocyclic compounds, an d polycyclic compunds.
